Business Administration and Management Degree
Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) Degree
Objectives:
The primary objective of the Ph.D. program is to impart management education and training to enable graduate students develop innovative thinking and analytical skills essential for producing highly competent business managers and teachers capable of assuming leadership positions in their chosen fields of specialization.
We firmly believe that in this highly competitive and complex global economy only meticulously trained and high caliber professionals will excel in pursuit of meaningful research, educational dissemination and/or business management environment. We envision that upon completion of their study program, successful doctoral candidates will be able to understand and integrate the functional areas of business development, marketing, financing, management information technology and health care sciences; this will enable them to apply techniques and decision-making strategies to the complex challenges including those posed by operating in a crosscultural environment. Only such trained individuals will he able to maximize the value and application of the state-of-the-art business knowledge and skins.
Requirements:
The Doctoral Degree in Business Management requires the completion of a minimum of 60 academic units of graduate work beyond the Master's Degree in an appropriate field. 48 of the 60 units are composed of course work and the remaining 12 units are for the Doctoral Dissertation.
Prerequisites:
An earned Master's Degree or its equivalent in Business Management or a related area earned from an accredited or state-approved college or university.
Prescriptive
Education:
40 of the 60 units of course work and the Doctoral Dissertation must he taken as completed academic work from the Institute as a minimum.
Transfer
Credits:
A maximum of 8 units may he accepted in transfer from accredited colleges/universities or other state-approved institutions.
Professional
Experience:
A maximum of 12 units in lieu of life-work/professional credit can be awarded to students enrolled in any Doctoral program.
