DISTANCE EDUCATION - EXPLAINED

The University uses a nontraditional and innovative method of instructions in some of its distance-learning degree programs. Our experience indicates that this method of directed, independent study has demonstrable value for disseminating educational concepts and knowledge, and is equal or superior to the traditional methods of instruction and leads to clearly measurable

learning outcomes. Each degree program is individually tailored for the student.A Faculty Advisor is assigned to each student on a one-to-one tutorial basis. When a student applies for admission, his or her background is evaluated and appropriate exemption credits based on the student's academic and/or professional credentials are granted. The remainder of the curriculum is completed one or two courses at a time until the student's degree requirements are met. This simple yet effective method will work for everyone. With the help and guidance of advisors, students can complete their curriculum expeditiously because of the systematic method of working on one or two subjects at a time. Exceptional students are capable of accelerating their studies towards their curriculum completion

This method of educational dissemination is substantially different from a traditional  classroom environment. In the latter, personal attendance is mandatory and the entire class progresses at a predetermined pace. As we all know from past experience, resident study, by its very nature, is inflexible where educational instruction is  disseminated to a group fo students as opposed to an individualized one to one tutorial basis. Our system is designed to to capitalize on the growing maturity of students. It encourages their sense of independence of thought and action

in their pursuit of academic excellence and creativity. Study time is at the student's convenience and instructions can be designed to allow flexibility in their busy professional, personal and family lives.

The University will provide instructional material in a sequential and logical order for study in his/her own pace. When each lesson or segment is completed, the student mails, electronically transmits, or otherwise makes available to the school the assigned work for correction, grading, comment and guidance by qualified faculty advisors. Corrected assignments are immediately returned to the student. This frequent and meaningful exchange provides for a personalized student/instructor relationship. Tutorial or residential arrangements are provided when appropriate, at additional fee We believe electronic technology will continue to play a significant role in transforming the distance educational system into a dynamic, interactive distance learning method using telephone, faxsimile transmissions, the Internet, video conferencing, internet chat, and other modern technological innovations.

The use of the state of the art technology to provide distance education will be at the core of the way we will disseminate education. Such systems will be instrumental in attaining globalization of higher education. It is only logical that the students need not go to the classroom; the classroom will be brought to their home, office or car.

The future of distance education promises to be exciting, indeed Since course work is primarily based upon independent study, a student's time to complete any course of study will vary, based upon the time commitment on the part of the student. All course work as well as theses and dissertations are intended to meet the equivalency of work that would take place within a traditional, on campus setting. We operate an open-enrollment system. Course work may begin at any time. This flexible open enrollment policy permits students to set their own pace and schedule to meet their specific academic goals. However, students must bear in mind that the University expects reasonable progress toward their degree objectives. A student has the right to cancel the enrollment agreement at any time and receive appropriate refund of tuition in accordance with the University's regulations. All requests for withdrawal, cancellation, and tuition refunds must be made in writing.
